| The
ATHINA Project was initiated in 1996. Its basic aim is the production of
language learning material for modern greek as a foreign language.
The project is carried out by Ellinogermaniki Agogi (in the role of the Coordinator) and the Universities of Erlangen and Complutense-Madrid (who collaborate as partners). The target group of the project are primarily students taking courses in Greek at European Universities, who already possess some knowledge of the greek language. Nevertheless, a number of people in search for a modern method to learn Greek at an advanced level are addressed too by the project. The communicative approach to language teaching is at the heart of Athina's materials. ATHINA takes advantage of the multimedia and the Internet in order to provide for more flexible learning. ATHINA is cofinanced by the European Commission (within the framework of the Socrates Program - Action Lingua D.) |
