Dear
Partners
At the beginning of this term our physics teacher (Prof.Binder)
offered us to join the PROJECT SOKRATES. It seemed very interesting
to us and therefore we worked with great enthusiasm. Our measuring
instruments are located in the backyard of our school. We have a
barometer and a hygrometer. The instruments are placed there, because
it`s easy to get access to them. Furthermore, they must not be protected
from the weather, to get clear results and exact measuring data. The
instruments were calibrated by Prof. Binder. He adjusted the hygrometer
by putting a wet towel around the instrument. After this procedure,
this instrument should show 100% humidity, but this wasn`t the case.
Because of this false result he had to recalibrate the instrument.
Finally, we are now able to provide you with satisfying results. We
have developed a certain system for registering the measured data.
In the early morning and at noon the class monitors check the station.
There are always two class monitors active to ensure that the data
are acquired correctly every day. That`s a good way to make sure
you don`t fall ill.We are very delighted to have the opportunity
to take part in this project. It isn`t a really hard job, but it`s
a pleasure for us to work together with schools from other countries. As
far as the next year is concerned, we would be really happy if we
could join this project again. We think, that it is a very good
idea to let pupils from different countries work together. In
conclusion, we are looking forward to good cooperation and wish
you all the best. Yours 7.b
