We are the class 10b of the Freiherr-vom-Stein Schule in Frankfurt/Main.
This year is our first to deal with the Socrates e-Hermes project. We
are involved in the daily measurements and in the last weeks our theme
in chemistry was soil. So our teacher decided to join chemistry lessons
with the project.
In the following article we introduce all we did in this matter. We have
had the chance for the first time to use all the equipment of the school
and so we have been able to give you a short impression of the lessons
and what we learned about soil, pH-rates, minerals and environmental problems.
The connection to the project is obvious, the pH-value of the rain in
Frankfurt and the region. In Germany there are since the last twenty years
a lot of problems especially in our forests. Just have a look at the tree
pics and make up your own mind about the environmental situation in Germany.
To give you an overview of the problems in our forests this article is
too short (but we guess it is the longest in the ESEM history).
