Project's Aims and Objectives


The main aim of the proposed project is to raise students' awareness on important issues related to the world cultural heritage as well as the cultural heritage of their own country and as a result involve young people in the protection of the cultural heritage. Within the framework of the proposed project a series of educational activities will be designed, developed and implemented aiming at:
  • Encouraging students to learn about the cultural sites of universal value inscribed in the World Heritage List of UNESCO.

  • Forging new attitudes and a life-long commitment to preserving local, national and World Heritage.

  • Providing students with information on the archaeological site of Apollo Epicurius at Bassae.

  • Making students aware of the new techniques that are being implemented in order to conserve these sites which are protected by the UNESCO Convention for the Protection of the World Cultural Heritage.

  • Integrating the visit activities into the school curriculum activities through an interdisciplinary approach.

  • Engaging students in a series of participatory activities that will allow them to experience a different way of visiting archaeological sites through the use of advanced mobile applications.
