Video Conference
On Thursday, the 22. October, we did a video-conference
with Athens. There was also a woman from an university. She interviewed
me (Sanja) and Marion, a girl from the other half of our class (there are
a French and a Maths group in our class). The woman asked many things about
the project, what we think of it, ...
There were many pupils, teachers and parents at the conference. I think
the parents liked it because they could see what we do and learn for the
project. We liked the conference too, it was very interesting. The pictures
at the conference weren't very good, but that doesn't really matter. We
asked the Athens' many questions about Greece, the weather and such things.
We hope that the project will go on like this.
Today
we spoke with the pupils of the 1. form of the Lyzeum Ellinogermaniki
Agogi. The 1. form of the Lyzeum corresponds about our 5. class secondary
school. The temperature in Greece is between -1 and +6 degrees Celsius.
In the last days it was raining, but snow can you only find
in the mountains of Greece. They were very interested, when we have Christmas
holidays. The school Ellinogermaniki Agogi shuts already one day before
our school closes (How nasty). We've sent a mail with photos from the
district heatery station to Greece. The video conference was several times
interrupted because there were technical problems. Partly we unterstood
nothing. Then we tried it with chatten, but after any time the pupils
in Greece reacted no longer of our questions. In Greece the holidays lasts,
like our holidays, about 15 days. They use, as well as our school, ISDN
- line and we are connected by a modem with Greece. Professor Eisenbarth
welcomed personally and lauded the speakers for his excellent german.
They asked us for the classe size and the relation boys: Girls. According
of the picture we could detect a teacher, but we could not get out his
name. Then they spoke was about the "question of the month". They asked
us if we know already the new question or the subject. Of course we could
only say that we will talk about it next week. (We had no time to study
it, because there were test, free days and other pupils in the computer
room). So we got a new date (in a week) for a conference and therefore
ends my protocol.
