The
list of the Pedagogical Objectives was set
up after the completion of the Needs Analysis:
-
The material should be rich, adaptable,
motivating and diversified. Because of the wide diversities observed, it
was felt, that the material should include a wealth of different excercises
and be easily adaptable to the needs of each class.
-
The material should obey to the principles
of the communicative approach. The questionnaire indicated that the motives
of the students would be best served through the adoption of the principles
that underlie the communicative approach.
-
The material should include authentic
texts and refer to real life situations. Practically all questionnaires
indicated the students' desire for a modern comprehensive teaching material,
that would not limit itself to preconstructed situations. It became clear
that all of the material including texts, excercises and pictures should
be authentic.
